Overview

Our client, an international ship management company with offices in Cyprus and throughout Europe and Asia employing over 4000 staff onshore and at sea, is looking to employ a Treasurer/ Accountant to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Responsibilities: 
Treasury:
Supervise the group cash financial position, monitor all payments and deal with all treasury related matters
Preparing, reviewing and authorising as a signatory all payments in the internal cash management system
Liaise with banks concerning terms, agreements, mandates, confirmations, investigations, new accounts and signatories
Prepare bank reconciliations and run daily cash disposition of bank balances in cash management system
Prepare cash flow projections and record budgets in cash system
Prepare daily reports, ageing reports and follow up receivables
Prepare and issue cheques to local suppliers and other group payments using software payment run functionality
Maintain and reconcile vendors / customers and clearing of control accounts and petty cash

Accounting:
Maintain proper monthly accounting records and
Issuing, coding and posting of invoices
Responsible for the recording of all administration expenses
Check and approve statement of expenses and other staff travelling expenses
Create customers / vendors in the accounting system
Deal with intra group transactions, interdepartmental charging and cost centre allocation
Closing the period in accounting system and perform all necessary period end processes
General correspondence and communication with the clients and suppliers relating to accounting matters

Reporting:
Preparation and submission of VAT / VIES returns and in charge of VAT audits
Assist the financial manager in the preparation of quarterly management accounts
Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets
Preparation of ad-hoc reports as requested from superiors

Requirements:
Strong analytical, problem solving, time management, decision making and leadership skills
Highly flexible, stress resistant and able to demonstrate conceptual thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and high sense of responsibility
Relevant experience in similar position is required
Excellent command of spoken and written English
Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, communication (MS Office)
Knowledge of Navision accounting software is an advantage
Holder of a relevant degree will be considered an advantage
