Job Description

CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, an expanding provider of Audit & Accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients, we are seeking to recruit a Payroll Officer to join their growing team based in Lakatamia, Nicosia. As part of your role, you will be responsible for handling payroll requirements on behalf of both individuals and company’s, working closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure clients receive a timely, efficient and professional payroll service. An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another similar field is desirable, and you will need to possess previous experience in a payroll-related role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English are essential. Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Calculate payroll taxes, social insurance, income tax for individuals and corporations.
  • End to end processing of company’s payrolls.
  • Communication with clients to get the information needed for preparation of payroll.
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager with month end consolidations.
  • Submission of employer’s return (IR7).
  • Preparation of the Certificate (IR63).
  • Registration of Companies to Tax Department, Social Insurance Department and Erganis.
  • Updating and maintain payroll records.
  • Payroll reporting to meet statutory obligations.
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments.
  • Processing increases and calculations of back pays.
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • An academic background relating to Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or any similar field will be considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a Payroll related role.
  • Experience with the registration of Companies with the Tax Department, Social Insurance Department and Erganis.
  • General accounting knowledge will be considered an advantage.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Previous experience working with Accounting Software is desirable.
  • Excellent command of the Greek & English Language.
