PART-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGY

The Department of Social Sciences of the University of Nicosia invites applications for one part-time faculty position in the discipline of multiculturalism and diversity. The positions are for the Summer 2023 or the Spring 2024 semesters.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include teaching the course “Diversity Issues: Promoting Advocacy and Social Justice as Counseling Psychologists”. This is a course offered to the students of the MSc Counseling psychology programme aiming to sensitize them to the complexity of counseling psychologists’ identity as professionals who understand and respect diversity issues through their role as social justice and advocacy agents and to train them on how to identify and correct biases and stereotyping that can harm the therapeutic process.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a doctoral degree in Psychology
- A PhD in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field
- Evidence of effective teaching in English
- Autonomy in developing and organizing the material to support students’ learning.
Additional Qualifications (will be considered as advantageous):
- Undergraduate and Graduate level teaching experience
- Professional experience in the same field
- Strong evidence of potential for scholarly research.
