The purpose is to ensure smooth operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, safeguarding that equipment and instruments operate within the specified limits, consistent with established Current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executing preventive maintenance and commissioning & qualification activities of laboratory systems, equipment and instruments and updating the relevant records
  • Executing troubleshooting and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments and ensuring their correct functionality and smooth operation
  • Executing calibration activities of laboratory instruments and updating the relevant records
  • Provides documented evidence that laboratory equipment has been installed and operates as per manufacturers’ specifications
  • Liaise with Laboratory analysts on the use, operation and safety of laboratory equipment
  • Ensuring that all activities of the department comply to the established regulations and guidelines such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Documentation Practices (cGDP) and the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Preparing or assisting in preparing protocols, risk assessments and reports relevant to qualification activities as and when needed

Qualifications for the job

  • University Degree in Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or any other relevant field
