Iacovou Group, one of the most reputable and established Construction Groups in Cyprus and Abroad, seeks to recruit an experienced and high caliber professional for the position of Construction Operations Manager


The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations and execution of various construction contracts/projects within his/her assigned region and within his/her assigned market area of responsibility.

  • Ensures the project’s smooth operation at all times
  • Ensures the effective management and development of people, in line with the Group’s Leadership and Management Competency Framework
  • Holds responsibility for coordinating, organizing and executing a number of contracts/projects at the same time within budget/costs and deadline/milestone requirements
  • Responsible for the overall performance and profitability of various projects at the same time
  • Conducts frequent on the spot visits assessing the progress of works and securing project profitability
  • Delegates responsibilities and authorities to the Project Managers for controlling a project, depending on the scope and size of each project and follows up/monitors the activities accordingly
  • Responsible for the overall project planning of the works and is involved in the preparation of construction method statements during pre-contract and post-contract stages
  • Deals with various contractual matters to review and submit, when required the Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment Management Plan (QHSSE) and receives information from various projects for the preparation of the QHSSE Management Plan
  • Responsible for the preparation of subcontractors’ agreements and settles their final accounts in coordination with the central Finance and Accounts unit and the Commercial Manager
  • Reviews and/or authorises project related outgoing correspondence to clients/project consultants/engineers and other relevant third parties in respect to all construction activities
  • Responsible for maintaining communication with the clients of each project and the relevant local authorities for the efficient completion of projects
  • Represents the company in meetings with clients, consultants and in case of absence of the General Manager Contracting
  • Represents the company in meetings with local authorities, such as the Public Works Department, in order to solve any issues concerning claims/arbitrations and any other contractual matters in cooperation with the Commercial Manager
  • Establishes and follows financial control, progress planning and quality control of the overall construction activity
  • Reviews all construction projects’ financial reports and cash flow of the project’s activities as prepared by the Project Managers and in cooperation with the Finance and Accounts unit
  • Prepares the financial reports
  • Checks and reviews all payment certificates for subcontractors and suppliers with regards to the construction activity
  • Reviews and approves payments to suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with the central Finance and Accounts unit with respect to the construction activity
  • Reviews and approves payments for plant, labour, subcontractors and suppliers’ invoices in coordination with the central Finance and Accounts unit
  • Observes the Statutory, Contractual and Company requirements with regards to Quality, Health, Safety, Security and the Environment and abides by any rules applicable to his/her scope of work
  • Promotes the policy for QHSSE and ensures that his/her acts or omissions do not harm the health and safety of himself/herself, others or the environment.
  • Ensures that all health and safety procedures and precautions are followed in all the premises and project sites


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
