The School of Psychology of Neapolis University is seeking applications to fill a position in Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to teach a wide variety of basic and advanced courses in their discipline. Full-time faculty members are also expected to attend faculty meetings and university events, serve on committees and engage in academic scholarship and professional development activities.

Qualifications and experience

We are seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor in Psychology. Applicants who research in Psychology are encouraged to apply.

Areas of specialization

The applicants should be qualified to teach either in an applied psychology field (clinical, counseling, school psychology) or a theoretical field (developmental, health, educational psychology), at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to culturally-diverse student cohorts, both in on campus and distance Study Programmes, provide curriculum development, contribute to the research strengths of the discipline, including the pursuit of research grants and regular publication in journals of high standing, supervise higher degree research students, be involved in interdisciplinary collaborations within the University and with external stakeholders and contribute to academic administration.

Competence in Greek and English languages is a requirement.

The applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Psychology and have a minimum of three (3) years in total of University work or equivalent, after acquisition of a PhD, or holding a position at the rank of Lecturer at another recognized University.

Applicants are expected to have demonstrated a high level of academic competence, have experience of leading academic research, good teaching skills and extensive teaching experience, as well as strong international visibility within the academic community. In addition, experience of doctoral education, applying for external funding, international research co-operation and academic expert assignments, as well as experience of participation in administrative tasks within an academic department, faculty or university are expected

The following additional qualifications are also considered as merits: experience of responsibility for a degree programme, a subject, department, faculty or university, successfully raising external research funds, experience in leading the development of teaching, and pedagogical education.
