Our client is one of the Top 4 Accounting and Auditing firms currently looking to recruit for their client who is an established Bank and they are in need of a Core Banking Project Manager – Nicosia
THIS IS A 2 YEAR PROJECT WITH THE POSSIBILITY TO EXTEND
Role Summary:
The Core Banking Project Manager will oversee the delivery of the Bank’s Core Banking transformation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing multi-disciplinary teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders to successfully implement and integrate the new core banking platform within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of the Core Banking implementation or upgrade, ensuring successful delivery across all project phases.
Vendor & Partner Coordination: Manage relationships with solution providers (e.g., Temenos, Finastra, Oracle, or other platform vendors) and ensure contractual and SLA obligations are met.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT, and external partners, ensuring requirements are well-defined, documented, and validated.
Regulatory Alignment: Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Cyprus directives, EU Banking Regulations, PSD2, AML, and GDPR requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk & Change Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, manage change control, and oversee readiness for go-live and post-implementation stabilization.
Budget Oversight: Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans in coordination with Finance and senior management.
Testing & Data Migration: Oversee UAT, integration testing, data validation, and migration to ensure seamless system transition.
Governance & Reporting: Maintain documentation and provide regular progress updates to the Project Steering Committee and Executive Management.
Training & Adoption: Coordinate with HR and department heads to design and implement training programs to support system adoption across business users.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Banking, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 7 years of experience in project or program management within the banking or financial services sector.
Proven experience leading core banking implementation or upgrade projects
Strong understanding of retail and corporate banking processes — deposits, loans, trade finance, payments, treasury, and compliance.
Familiarity with Cypriot banking regulations, Central Bank of Cyprus reporting, and European regulatory frameworks (PSD2, SEPA, AMLD, GDPR).
Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile PM) preferred.
Excellent command of English; knowledge of Greek is an advantage.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
